The CIA IT component (Global Communications Services) participated in the AFCEA TECHEXPO in VA Beach this past June and it was extremely successful in finding quality and cleared IT applicants for one of our communications/IT positions. We met many qualified applicants for our Telecommunications Information Systems Officer position and many of these were actually interviewed in VA Beach in the days following the Job Fair.
Numerous applicants have received job offers and are in processing now. What was unique for the job fair was the numbers if current and prior military (mainly enlisted) soldiers with experience in tactical and fixed LAN, Satellite Communications, secure radio, crypto/COMSEC experience. Many of these soldiers have served in war zones and are now looking to separate from the military. Starting with the CIA allows them to continue Federal Service and continue to serve our country in similar ways. The TISO position does not require a college degree.
The TECHEXPO Job Fairs are managed very effectively and provide an outstanding resource for companies and the federal government looking for quality applicants.

At AT&T Government Solutions, we have a plethora of dynamic, challenging opportunities, most of which require high-level clearances, and we are always on the look-out for top professionals. Like most recruiting departments of defense contracting companies, McDonald Bradley faces the issue of finding highly qualified, cleared candidates in a timely manner in order to fill our clients needs. Having a small recruiting department and meeting these demands is challenging but with the assistance and guidance of TECHEXPO – we manage to meet our clients goals as well as build a strong pipeline of candidates to go back to when new work presents itself.
Recently we had the pleasure of working with TECHEXPO on a Boutique Job Fair. Working with them was a lesson in true consulting and partnering. The staff at TECHEXPO worked hand-in-hand with us on developing specific advertising, e-mailers, and other avenues for attracting highly qualified applicants to our event as well as our database. The response was overwhelming! The database alone has received over 1100 resumes of qualified candidates with a variety of clearances and skills needed for our current and projected work. What was even more amazing is that we have senior level director positions available and have had qualified candidates for these positions apply to us through this event as well. No need for an executive search firm!
We also participate regularly in TECHEXPO job fairs and we have had great success there as well. TECHEXPO’s staff is responsive, attentive, professional and always a pleasure to work with. When it comes to recruiting top-notch, skilled and cleared candidates – TECHEXPO is the way to go!

BAE Systems has attended TECHEXPO Job Fairs for over 2 years. We continue to attend because we make hires from these shows. The TECHEXPO Job Fairs are well advertised, organized and attended by candidates with high-level security clearances that are qualified and interested in searching for new opportunities. After each Job Fair we are able to search the TechExpoUSA.com website to quickly search for the resumes of qualified candidates we did not have an opportunity to speak with during the show. The Account Manager assigned to us is very attentive to our needs and responds quickly to our requests. We plan on attending multiple shows in the DC metropolitan area in 2005.

As a small, but growing company, Resolvit Resources is extremely selective about the job fairs we can attend. We recently participated in two TechExpoUSA Top Secret job fairs and found that their events were attended by highly qualified professionals.
Most of the attendees had a Top Secret or higher clearance and we recently hired four from the last show alone! I wanted to pass along on paper what we basically told you at the show from August 11 TECHEXPO Job Fair. It was a very well run job fair with an excellent representation of companies, the kind we want to be associated with during these events, and excellent service by the hosting facility. I’m not sure how you can go wrong with a winning combination like that.
We had a chance to talk with and conduct brief interviews with 10’s of prospects, collected around fifty resumes from interested candidates, interviewed four serious candidates and hired two.
Our expectations were greatly exceeded, not only with the overall show and your constant visits offering support, but with the caliber of the candidates, the number of candidates, and the candidates with the right skills and “tickets” that we so desperately need.
