Media Relations Manager

Key Role:

Serve as a press, media, and crisis communications professional, including providing support for market-facing media relations in the US government, commercial and international markets, and corporate communications. Demonstrate knowledge of the latest communications tactics and capabilities, writing expertise, a strategic vision to support innovation in the execution of media relations, and expertise in providing media relations to technology firms and the US government. Be well versed in best practices for media measurement and analytics. Provide media support for senior executives, daily direction of members of an external PR agency team, coordination of traditional media with paid, shared and owned media channels, development and execution of a market-facing media relations strategy, and coordination and alignment with government relations, marketing, and the firm’s community partnerships team.

Basic Qualifications:

-10 years of experience in media relations with the technology industry, government agencies and corporate communications

-Experience with integrated communications, including marketing, branding, and message development

-Experience with supporting senior executives

-Experience with managing integrated media and marketing campaigns, including traditional print and broadcast media and digital, video and graphics production

-Experience with PR agency work or managing and directing members of a PR agency team as a client, including a record of developing and introducing innovative practices

-Experience as a supervisor of others

-Experience with supporting events for media relations

-BA or BS degree

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with international media relations, including the MENA and Southeast Asia regions

-Experience with commercial media relations

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills, including research and editing

-Possession of excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
